Served as Executive Assistant to provincial cabinet Minister, Victoria, BC- 1980-82

Private Practice of law in Victoria and Duncan, B.C., 1982-2001

Sessional Lecturer, Department of Political Science and School of Public Administration, University of Victoria, 1981-96

Served in several political and parliamentary positions including Director of Policy and Research, Office of the Leader of the Opposition and Senior Advisor to the Government House  Leader for Legislative Review and Democratic Reform, House of Commons, Ottawa, 2001-2008

Served as General Manager of Crestview Strategy Inc, a public relations and government consulting firm, Ottawa, 2009-2018

Served as part time Policy Advisor, Office of the Leader of the Opposition, Senate, Ottawa, 2018-2019
